Our history is diverse. NeighborWorks® Home Solutions became what it is today through the uniting of three different organizations, Home Opportunities Made Easy, Inc. (HOME) which started in 1971 in Council Bluffs, IA. In 1994, HOME was integrated and restructured into Community Housing Investment Corporation (CHIC) whose focus was to create and support community revitalization by increasing residential redevelopment activities throughout the City of Council Bluffs. Separately, in 1992 the New Community Development Corporation (NCDC) was incorporated in Omaha with a focus on community development with a primary emphasis on developing new housing. In 2009, NCDC became a chartered member of NeighborWorks® America and became known as NeighborWorks® Omaha . In 2013, NeighborWorks® Omaha and CHIC of Council Bluffs merged to form New Community Development Corporation dba NeighborWorks® Home Solutions. (Learn more about NeighborWorks America, here.)

Today, New Community Development Corporation dba NeighborWorks® Home Solutions (NWHS) provides economic and community revitalization services by creating safe, high-quality housing through single-family new construction or multi-family rental opportunities and neighborhood revitalization. Our footprint includes a portfolio of 11-multi-family properties in Omaha, 1-multi-family property in Council Bluffs, and various single-family developments in different stages of construction or pre-development in Council Bluffs.

We are excited about serving our neighbors in Douglas and Sarpy counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie county in Iowa, with an emphasis on the Metropolitan Service Area which includes Council Bluffs and Omaha.
